First Shift Supervisor

Americana of Davison is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood and offers a vibrant, active lifestyle with daily social activities. We are currently looking for a first shift supervisor to provide assistance to residents and also provide guidance, leadership, and training to current and new employees.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the staffing and scheduling of the entire care department.
• Schedule, maintain, and adjust employee schedules as needed.
• Input schedules for other departments each week; provided by department directors.
• Manage all aspects of scheduling; including call-ins and finding coverage.
• Tracks attendance points for the care department.
• Assists with write-ups for attendance.
• Covers shifts as needed.
• Assists with calling and scheduling interviews for hourly positions.
• Coordinates orientation dates and training schedules for new hires and supervisors.
• Communicates with the Wellness Director on training dates to ensure follow-up on new caregivers, med tech training, and supervisor check off.
• Reviews time clock punches/payroll for all hourly employees.
• Spends time on the floor every shift to monitor processes and performance.
• Participates in on-call rotation and creates supervisor on-call rotation.
• Provides leadership and supervision to the aides and supervisors and brings forward new ideas to better these roles.
• Assists with training of new employees and retraining of current employees when applicable.
• Assists in the disciplinary process of employees, participates in remediation, retraining efforts, etc.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience:
• A minimum of two years of direct care experience is required.
• One year of previous supervisory or other applicable experience is preferred.
• Previous experience with time and attendance or scheduling systems is preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
• AHA CPR Certification is required (within 60 days of hire).
• First Aid Training is required (within 60 days of hire).

• Shifts/Availability:
• Supervisors must have availability to rotate being On-Call.

• Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good command of the English language, both oral and written.
• Ability to socially interact and perform under pressure.
• Ability to maintain positive and professional interactions with residents and families at all times.
• Good planning and organization skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Programs and/or other applicable software programs and excellent computer skills.
